Whatever you spend the most time
absorbed in things you do
is clearly what you love the most
on each day you go through

focused on what brings you pleasure
an idol it may be
when devotion is obsession
then you’re no longer free
____
for there are so many voices
vying to gain an ear
influencing you to ponder
the choices they make here
____
and it’s easy to fall in love
with something more than God
when a heart is turned toward self
in an accepting nod
____
but Jesus owns the greatest need
and that is to be loved
above all else that’s in the earth
and heaven far above
____
for that is why He has made you
and gave you life to be
a creature that will love his God
and others that you see
____
fulfilling all the royal law
becomes a daily goal
that enriches you beyond all wealth
when love will make you whole
